Splicing:

Splicing is created by taking a section of hair, channeling it and flatfacing it backwards and then forwards.  This new texturizing technique helps the hair design to flip out at the bottom, creating a very beautiful effect.

Pull a section of hair, channel or flatface to one side and the to the other side

Flatfacing:

By working the INTEXT Shears flat against the head, the hair designer can create texturized layers that blend and melt through the hair.  This technique helps to bring the layers of the hair all together.

Working through the hair with the shears held parallel against the hair.

Channeling:

Channeling creates sculpted and texturized layers on the inside of the hair by moving the INTEXT Shears in an upward or downward position, with the rounded tips safely sliding against the scalp.

Opening and closing the shears while holding them at an angle.

Uplifting:

Uplifting creates a multitude of layers at the crown of the head by cutting sections of hair that are held in an upward motion.  This texturizing technique also helps to build body and volume within the newly sculpted hair design.
